Redstor reveals key to effective data risk and compliance

Danie Marais, Director of Product Management at Redstor, will reveal how a new technology developed in South Africa is helping organisations comply with regulations when he addresses the ITWeb Governance, Risk and Compliance conference.

As data grows and becomes decentralised in a multi-cloud world, making it difficult to keep track of where it all exists, Marais will spell out why borderless visibility of data is the key to avoiding the threat of enforcement action.

Being able to quickly and easily access data, as well as evidence compliance is crucial if companies are to evade catastrophic fines and reputational damage.

Marais will outline how global data management SaaS specialist Redstor is providing this capability and making it easier for organisations with complex data estates to manage, control, search and gain insight from all their data.

Redstor, gold sponsors at the ITWeb Governance, Risk and Compliance conference, has responded to a growing awareness among business decision makers to prioritise data compliance and identify the best data governance model for an organisation.

Marais said: “Today, data is more intrinsically valuable than ever before, as the flow of data now contributes more to world GDP than the flow of physical goods. It’s a key asset to business, but companies are unable to leverage the asset if their data isn’t readily accessible or properly secured.

“Businesses are struggling to keep track of what data they have, where it’s stored and who has access to it across multiple devices, applications and platforms.”

Marais will engage with conference delegates and will consider what an on-demand world for data management looks like in the future of POPI and compliance.

He added: “The future of data management may be closer than you think.”
